Linda Gottlieb, a long-time fundraiser for the LGBTQ community, founded The LGBTQ Focus Foundation, a not-for-profit New York State charitable corporation, in October 2015.

Building on her success in raising more than half a million dollars for LGBTQ charities for the prior five years through the annual Women's Pride in the Pines event in Fire Island Pines, the new foundation was established to focus on raising funds for those most vulnerable in the LGBTQ community including youth, senior citizens and women.

 

A key component of Ms. Gottlieb's fundraising efforts is to keep the expenses for the Women's Pride in the Pines event as low as possible to maximize the funds the recipient charities receive. This goal has been a success, with expenses less than 15% of the money raised.

Ms. Gottlieb established a dynamic Board of Directors, who bring a variety of skills in fundraising, marketing, LGBTQ advocacy and event planning.

The organization is a not-for-profit charitable organization under section 501(c)3 of the IRS.
